In July 2011, Charlie Whinney associates ran the second annual Steambending weekend, a 3-Day course designed to teach advanced steam bending techniques to professional furniture makers, woodworkers, students, architects, teachers and enthusiasts. This video will give you a glimpse of what we got up to on the first two days. As well as extensive practical tuition, the course comes a comprehensive steam bending manual, and features hands-on sculpture and furniture design, with a steam-bent chair that is built and finished in an afternoon. It is also an opportunity to experiment with the technique, and every year new insights are gained into the steam bending process.
